Hard Coded link being removed 18th May 2008
Information provided by CLG
The purpose of this information is to help ensure smooth implementation of the removal of the "hard-coded link" from the Domestic EPC/HCR Register on 18 May. Although the change primarily impacts those who assemble HIP Packs, we are keen to ensure that Domestic Energy Assessors are aware of the change and able to notify their clients. We have also been communicating this message separately to those who assemble HIP Packs.
In summary, the following type of query (known as a "hard coded link") will no longer be supported:
https://www.hcrregister.com/ReportDownload?key=XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
Those who assemble HIP Packs will still be able to access the Domestic EPC/HCR Register and retrieve EPCs via two routes:
1. Entering the RRN directly into the register website (https://www.hcrregister.com/ReportRetrieve); and
2. Using the "peer-to-peer" service - an authenticated connection between computers.
The Hard-coded link is being removed because it allows EPCs to be accessed without relevant Terms and Conditions having been agreed to - thereby breaching relevant legislation and CLG requirements.
The removal of the link has been pending since October 2007. The removal date of 18 May has been agreed by Accreditation Schemes, AHIPP and Landmark.
